Legend of Stracchino is a homebrew NES game set in the Italian Middle Ages. You play as a wandering adventurer tasked with recovering the ancient and long-lost recipe for Stracchino — the soft, creamy cheese that would eventually evolve into what we now call Taleggio.

Part RPG, part puzzle — explore towns, dungeons, and monasteries across a pixelated medieval landscape, talk to monks, merchants, and mysterious cheesemakers, and piece together the recipe before it's lost to history forever.
